HCTI’s Special Session- From Burnout to Engagement: A Community Hospital’s Story
Our session, “From Burnout to Engagement” by subject matter experts Ryan Sommers and Alex Atkinson on the complex challenge of provider burnout was very well-received with a lot of good discussion during the session.
While a significant amount of research focuses on the negative impact of burnout on provider satisfaction, little research describes targeted interventions aimed at reducing the impact of the drivers-or causes-of burnout.
This presentation focusses on the outcomes of three evidence-based tools – the Maslach Burnout Inventory, the Maslach Areas of Worklife Survey, the Technology Acceptance Model – into targeted interventions that will improve the usability of EHR workflows and reduce the impact of the drivers on burnout.
